The most anticipated spring event for wine and spirits enthusiasts
Verona, April 23, 2024. The Wine and Spirits Auction by Nomisma Aste, the annual event of the Verona-based auction house dedicated to the auctioning of prestigious wines and rare collectible spirits, is fast approaching.
The auction will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM CEST in the stunning setting of Villa Mosconi Bertani, a beautiful venue located in the heart of Valpolicella.
A selection of 213 lots, including both Italian and international wines and spirits, will be up for bidding. This event is unmissable for both wine lovers and spirit connoisseurs.
Among the wines to be auctioned, it is impossible not to mention the Brunello di Montalcino Biondi Santi Riserva 1955, an extraordinary vintage and a unique bottle. This was the only Italian bottle to be included in Wine Spectator’s list of the twelve greatest wines of the twentieth century. The bottles in the auction, in perfect condition, were topped up in 2001, as evidenced by the official certificate issued by the winery.
Another standout wine, considered one of the most important, rare, and prestigious red wines in the world, is the Masseto Tenuta dell’Ornellaia. Noteworthy among the bottles of this reference that will be auctioned is the 2015 double magnum.
But there’s more! Enthusiasts will also be able to acquire labels such as Sassicaia, Barolo Gaja Sperss, Krug Champagne, Dom Pérignon, Salon Cuvée S Brut Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil, the king of Pinot Noir Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and also Château d’Yquem, Château Mouton Rothschild, and Château Margaux.
Among the spirits, noteworthy names include the rare Skeldon 1973 and 1978 rums from the legendary Guyana distillery and Caroni rum from the now-legendary Caribbean distillery.
And let’s not forget the Cognac Grande Champagne Louis XIII Rémy Martin, a special cognac revered worldwide, created with over 1,200 different eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne terroir, some aged over a century. A masterpiece inside and out: the decanter is made of Baccarat crystal.
Additionally, the iconic Macallan Red Ribbon 1950 Handwritten Label Edition, a single malt from 1950 impeccably preserved, and the Complete Collection of Uè Grappa Nonino Monovitigno Picolit, 27 vintage decanters produced in an extremely limited series with bottles designed by Venini, Riedel, and Baccarat.
