Watches, numismatics, wines, and spirits: 807 lots up for auction in the stunning Villa Mosconi Bertani
Verona, December 3, 2025. Following the great success of its inaugural edition, Nomisma Aste is pleased to announce the 2025 Christmas Auction. The must-attend event will take place on Sunday, December 14, in the magnificent setting of Villa Mosconi Bertani.
A sequence of 807 lots—including luxury watches, exquisite diamonds, fine wine and spirits (featuring the “F. S. Collection”), and significant numismatic pieces—will take the audience on a journey through vintage wonders and timeless objects, curated to satisfy the taste of every collector.
A chance to make a difference
The auction will be further enhanced by the donation of a portion of the proceeds to two charitable organizations. 2% of the hammer price will be donated to the Coperativa Sociale FRUTTI NUOVI. This organization provides support to young people with cognitive, emotional, and inclusion-related disabilities through specialized professionals, including psychologists, educators, experiential therapists, and volunteers.
Furthermore, the family of F.S. will donate a portion of the proceeds from the “F.S. Collection” to LAV – Lega Antivivisezione (Anti-Vivisection League). Through awareness campaigns, rescue operations, emergency interventions, and dedicated animal cruelty hotlines, LAV works tirelessly to fulfill its mission: defending and saving animals from mistreatment, abandonment, and injustice.
Watches
Once again, watches will lead the way at this year’s auction, presenting 56 fine pieces to the public. These range from classic wristwatches by brands such as Rolex, Montblanc, Baume & Mercier, Parmigiani, Vacheron Constantin, and many others—which we invite collectors to explore in our catalog—to elegant pocket watches.
Among the standout lots in this section, the Rolex Daytona (lot 9, estimate € 13.500), sold with its original box and papers, undoubtedly shines. Another extremely rare timepiece is the Vacheron Constantin 222 (lot 31, estimate € 15.000). Celebrating the brand’s 222nd anniversary, this model marked a departure from the traditional dress watches for which Vacheron was renowned. It was designed to compete with rivals like the Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus—watches that served as a fundamental inspiration for designer Jorg Hysek in the creation of this exquisite timepiece.
Finally, we present lot 35 (estimate € 22.000): the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Fondation Time For The Trees” Limited Edition. This model supported reforestation efforts in Brazil, Madagascar, and Indonesia, commemorating this environmental commitment with a striking engraving of a large oak tree on the dial.
Wine and spirits
The auction continues with an exquisite selection of wine and spirits comprising 348 lots, perfect for the upcoming holiday season. Opening this section is the Private Collection of F.S., which we are honored to commemorate through the fruits of a lifetime of meticulous research.
As noted in the catalog, every bottle has become a message: “A fragment of his vision, of his research, of his silent care.” The collection features renowned names in international spirits, such as Bowmore, Caol Ila, Talisker, Silver Seal, Caroni, Martell, and many others, leading up to a chapter dedicated entirely to Macallan.
Within this section, we wish to highlight the Macallan 30 Year Old Artist Label #10 (lot 154, estimate € 950) and the Macallan 1928 – 50 Year Old Anniversary Malt (lot 157, estimate € 35.000). This is widely considered one of the distillery’s most significant historical expressions and a true cornerstone for collectors. The collection continues into a selection of Levi Grappas, where hand-painted labels add a highly prized artistic touch.
Beyond the private collection, the wine selection features the prestigious 1924 Barolo Monfortino (lot 303, estimate € 3.000). This is the first bottle from the Giacomo Conterno winery to bear the “Monfortino” name on its label. From the Bertani winery, we highlight a vertical of Amarone (lot 336, estimate € 1.900). Finally, the spirits section concludes with the standout Macallan 25 Year Old Anniversary Malt 1971 (lot 391, estimate € 2.000).
Numismatics
The auction moves toward its conclusion with the remaining 400 numismatic lots, the core business of this Verona-based auction house.
Undoubtedly, the crown jewel of this auction is a coin struck right here in our city of Verona: a Half Lira of Maximilian I of Habsburg (lot 544, estimate € 25.000). Among the other Italian mints, we must highlight the Francesco I della Rovere Ducat, struck in Urbino. This is one of the most beautiful coins of the Renaissance (lot 510, estimate € 6.000).
For Papal coinage, we are offering one of the most complete collections of Clement XI to ever pass through our offices. Notable highlights include the 1716 Gold Scudo in Fleur de Coin (FDC) condition (lot 551, estimate € 12.000), followed by a Year XIII Piastra (lot 557, estimate € 8.000), featuring a stunning perspective of Rome’s Piazza della Rotonda on the reverse.
Finally, let’s turn to the House of Savoy series. In this section one cannot overlook the extremely rare 1815 Half Scudo of Victor Emmanuel I (lot 682, estimate € 10.000) and the 1940 Year XIX 20 Lire of Victor Emmanuel III (lot 734, estimate € 12.000).
In conclusion, a quest for precious objects of the highest quality, a passion for the craft, and acts of solidarity are the driving forces behind this auction. We look forward to seeing you at an event where you can experience the true Christmas spirit, surrounded by a unique setting and lots of extraordinary charm.
